The Haworth Fire Department was formed on May 10,1908 to protect the lives and property of the residents of Haworth. Since its inception, the department has come together to keep every resident as safe as possible from the dangers of fire, and other emergencies. The fire department responds to a vast array of emergencies from fires and car accidents, to gas leaks, brush fires, basement pump-outs, even plane crashes. The Fire Department consists of residents from Haworth and surrounding towns who have been properly trained at the County’s Fire Academy. The Fire Department also sponsors a Junior Fire Department, which consists of teenagers between the ages of 14-17.
