Haworth Seniors

Happy & healthy New Year! As the winter weather is upon us, we wanted to let you know we are regrettably unable to continue offering the volunteer program for snow removal services. We do not have enough reliable volunteer manpower available to accommodate and guarantee snow shoveling in a safe and timely manner. We appreciate that this has been a valuable program and want to avoid any confusion and inconvenience this winter so you can plan accordingly for snow removal. If you have a landscaper, it may be prudent to make arrangements for professional services in the event of a storm. We will also encourage our entire community to check in on our neighbors and look out for one another on an individual basis.

In the event of a medical emergency, as always, please dial 911 for assistance.

Haworth Municipal Library

The New Year starts with The Portrait Show featuring a variety of artists, their subjects and mediums as well as their visions of the art of portraiture.

Save the date(s) for the reception if you'd like to meet the artists. Perhaps you’d like to commission one of them to make a portrait of you or your loved ones!

The Portrait Show will run through Monday, March 24, with a reception on Saturday, January 11, from 11:30am - 1:30 pm (snow date: January 18).

Haworth Skating Rink

The Haworth skating rink at Memorial Field is now open! We kindly ask all visitors to be respectful of others, clean up after yourselves, and be considerate of our neighbors. Thank you for helping keep the rink a welcoming space for everyone.

Congestion Relief Zone in NYC

Starting this week, vehicles entering the Congestion Relief Zone in Manhattan—local streets and avenues at or below 60 St - will be charged a toll. The program will reduce traffic, improve air quality, and fund better public transit.

The toll amount will depend on the type of vehicle, time of day, whether any crossing credits apply, and the method of payment. Most vehicles with E-ZPass will be charged $9 in the peak period or $2.25 overnight, once daily.

Residents may qualify for a discount or exemption from the Congestion Relief Zone toll. Individuals can apply for the Low-Income Discount Plan or the Individual Disability Exemption Plan, regardless of where they live. For more information about eligibility and applications, visit mta.info/discounts.

E-ZPass is the best way to pay the toll. Drivers will be able to pay with their existing E-ZPass transponder and account. If you already have an E-ZPass account, make sure it is up to date with your current license plate number to ensure you are charged the E-ZPass toll rate and receive any peak period crossing credits.
