With that, please join me in thanking the many people who contribute to the vitality, comfort, safety and beauty that makes Haworth the unique and wonderful community that it is. As I’ve said countless times, Haworth is small but mighty. We have the same municipal responsibilities as towns 10 times our size and the same deadlines and pressures. Thank you to all of our staff in Borough Hall who make sure everything runs smoothly and efficiently, and does so with skill, warmth and professionalism.
Thank you to our Police Department, who ensure that our residents and those who spend time here shopping, eating, working and playing, are safe.
Thank you to our DPW for also keeping us safe, as well as beautiful and welcoming.
Thank you to our Volunteer Emergency Services - Fire, Ambulance, and Police Auxiliary. Many of you have been serving Haworth for more than a decade. Volunteering to help others at their most vulnerable is a special calling and I thank you for the time you give and the work you do for all of us.
Thank you to our library staff for continuing to offer enriching and creative programming for residents of all ages, and for being a hub of our community life.
Thank you to our dozens of residents who volunteer across our commissions and committees. Whether your role is helping with arts, leisure, planning for our future, public wellness, or leading a Scout troop, your contribution is essential and appreciated.
And finally, thank you to my Council colleagues who give so much of themselves, their talents, and their free time to making sure Haworth remains the jewel we love. We are often recognized for the collaborative, respectful and big-picture way in which we govern. I know how much time and energy you all give, and I can’t thank you enough.
To our residents, thank you for being the fabric of our community. I wish you all a happy and safe Thanksgiving,
Mayor Heather Wasser

No Shave November Fundraiser
This November, the Haworth Police Department is putting down their razors and growing out their beards to raise awareness and funds for 2-year-old Daniel Drobenko, a brave little boy right here in Haworth, who is courageously fighting high-risk Neuroblastoma.
All proceeds raised through this campaign will go directly to support Daniel’s ongoing treatments and his family through this difficult time.
Please consider donating by scanning the Haworth PD QR code on the flyer and label it “Daniel Strong.” No amount is too small, and we thank you in advance for your kindness and generosity. You can also Venmo @HaworthPolice-Association.

Haworth Fire Department
The Haworth Volunteer Fire Department is actively seeking dedicated volunteers to join their ranks and help protect our community. Volunteering with the Fire Department is a rewarding way to give back to your neighbors and make a real difference in times of need. The department provides free training, so no prior experience is required, along with all necessary equipment to ensure your safety on the job. In addition, qualifying members receive a stipend as a token of appreciation for their time and service. By becoming a volunteer firefighter, you not only gain valuable skills but also join a close-knit team committed to keeping Haworth safe. Your help is vital: whether it's responding to emergencies or offering support during times of crisis, every bit counts.
For information on joining please visit https://www.haworthnj.org/fire or stop by on Wednesday night at 730pm.
Thank you,
Chief Troy Hilcken
