2025 Leaf Season Schedule

Beginning in October, leaves may be placed curbside for pickup in accordance with the schedule (link below). We ask that you do not bag leaves and do not put leaves curbside after the final pickup. Please place leaves curbside during the weekend prior to your pickup week. If you have a landscaper maintaining your property, please give them a copy of this schedule so they may clean your property prior to your leaf pick up.

Please Note: There will be no Leaf Collection on November 11Th, 27th and 28th.

Haworth Fire Department and EMS

The Haworth Fire Department and EMS will host the Annual Ragamuffin Parade on Saturday, October 25, at 9:30 am.

The parade departs from the Terrace Street Parking lot and will make its way to the Haworth Public School where there will be light refreshments and a Costume Contest for ages Newborn - 4th grade.

No signups or registration necessary - just meet us at the parking lot for this beloved tradition!

 

 

 

 

Haworth Ghost Stories

Join the Haworth Arts Committee for their Annual Ghost Stories at the Pond from 7:00 - 8:00 pm on Saturday, October 25.

Ghost stories, Poems and Music with Free Cider, Donuts and Apples.

Glow sticks to the first 100 ghouls in costumes!

Tickets:

$40 per adult

$20 children 6 to 12 years of age.

Children under 5 are free but still need tickets for seating arrangements.

All tickets must be prepaid. Tickets are available at the Haworth Apothecary or by calling Kathy Nakashian 201-385-2073, email momanak@aol.com but must be preordered at the time of ticket purchase. Bring your own beer, wine, soda, etc.

Profits from the evening support many charities and the Haworth Woman’s Scholarship Fund.

Halloween in Haworth

Haworth residents are invited to join us for the 2025 Haworth Halloween Safe Trick or Treat Zone The following roads will be closed to traffic from 3-6 pm on Halloween:

 

• Maple Street from Harland Avenue to Wheeler Place

• Myrtle Street from Harland Avenue to Contant Avenue

• Contant Avenue from Maple Street to Brook Street

 

Things to Remember:

• Candy donations are NEEDED to help the residents in the Zone provide a fun experience for Haworth's treat seekers. PLEASE donate at Borough Hall and/or the Library through 10/31.

• To ensure that this is a safe and fun COMMUNITY experience, we encourage you not to share the Zone information with non-residents.

• Please remind your trick or treaters of all ages to be respectful of our hosts in the Zone

• The Zone will be the area that is closed to cars but trick or treating is still welcome all through town until 9 pm.

THANK YOU to the Rec Commission for sponsoring the Zone, and the Haworth Police and DPW for ensuring safe access for trick or treaters while being mindful of traffic and parking needs for the area.

 

 

New Jersey Motor Vehicle Commission

The MVC Mobil Unit will be visiting Haworth:

When: Monday, November 3, 2025

Where: Stevens Place Parking Lot

Time: 9:00am to 3:00 pm

Many services are available during this time. Registration required for:

• Real ID

• Registration Renewal

• Initial Permit (Please note: TESTS ARE NOT GIVEN AT MOBILE UNIT)

• Non-Driver ID

• Duplicate/Replacement Title or Registration

Sign up for the above services here.

No appointment necessary for the following services. Just walk-in for:

• Surrendering license plates

• Handicapped, Veterans, or Purple Heart placards

• Purchase red GDL decals

The Mobil Unit is wheelchair accessible and easy for all to use. Cancellation may occur due to weather conditions or at the discretion of the MVC over unforeseen circumstances.

 

NJ Honors Veterans

On behalf of County Executive Tedesco, the County is happy to announce the following opportunity for our service members:

In honor of Veterans Day, for veterans and active-duty service members, Bergen County will offer a free round of golf from Monday, November 10 - Friday, November 14.

Bergen County veterans and active-duty military have the opportunity to make an “County’s Division of Golf in advance at 201-336-7259 from Monday, October 27th through Friday, October 31st, during normal business hours (8am – 3pm). By doing so, they will be able to book a tee-time before the online registration portal opens to all golfers for the week of November 10th
