9-6-24
With a turn of the calendar, we are in September and entering into a busy Fall season. School is back in session, and we wish all our students at Haworth Public School and Northern Valley Demarest a rewarding and fulfilling school year. The Haworth Police Department and Recreation Commission recently staged a successful first National Night Out in Haworth that showcased the importance of strong bonds between law enforcement and the community. It culminated with a dramatic HUMC AirMed One helicopter landing on the baseball diamond!
The Haworth Fire Department will be holding their annual 9/11 Ceremony this Wednesday. It is a solemn ceremony of remembrances, honoring the innocents and First Responders whom we have lost while also giving us the opportunity to recognize the commitment and dedication of our extraordinary first responders in Haworth. It’s a pause we take each year to reflect, and an important one. I hope that you’ll join us.
We recently lost one of our own First Responders, longtime HVAC member George Hodges. George served as driver, EMT, and President during his 25-year tenure and we will never forget his commitment and service to the people of Haworth. Our condolences go out to all those who were close to George.
Volunteerism, community spirit, and connection in celebration and sorrow are what make our beautiful Haworth the unique and wonderful place we call home. Seeing you all out and about at town events and getting to chat with you is the best. So start warming up now for the 5K on September 21st! You don't want to miss it!!
