On Monday March 9, 2026, at 8pm, the Planning Board will hold a Public Hearing on the proposed amendments to the Housing Element and Fair Share Plan (HEFSP). The Hearing will take place in the council chambers at Borough Hall.

The purpose of the Public Hearing is to amend the Master Plan of the Borough of Haworth by the adoption of an Amended HEFSP that incorporates the terms of the settlement agreement respecting the Borough's affordable housing planning requirements for Round 4.  It proposes various compliance mechanisms to address the Round 4 affordable housing obligation as outlined in the settlement agreement reached with Fair Share Housing Center. The public is invited to comment on the proposed Amended HEFSP and a copy is posted on the Borough website.

The following evening, March 10, is the regular Council meeting at 7:30 pm. As part of this process, the Council will hear the second reading/public hearing of the implementing ordinances to enable the zoning changes needed to enact the amended HEFSP.
