7/6/2026 State of Emergency

Good morning.

In coordination with our OEM Coordinator, Troy Hilcken, I have declared a state of emergency in Haworth as of 7/4/26. This is a formality that expands our ability to unlock resources and funding faster.

 

I have been in direct contact with our rep at PSE&G. She personally spoke to their electric division to move Schraalenburgh Road up the priority list. They have pictures of the downed telephone line at Haworth Ave and the tree laying across at the Sunoco station.  They have had this information all along, but we continue to follow up to speed up restoration and the state of emergency will expedite.

O&R has been successfully restoring power. 

Not only am I, the police and DPW keeping the pressure on, but I've asked County Executive Tedesco and Assemblyman Auth to monitor Haworth as well.

 

If you have concerns about danger near your property anywhere in town,  please call 911 if urgent.

If not urgent, call the Clerk's office, (201) 384-4785, ext 2 or police non-emergency line,  (201) 384-1900. 

DPW is out clearing trees and debris since early this morning around town.

With rain still in the forecast through tomorrow, the situation remains fluid and we are on top of it.

 

Again. Please do not walk around or near wires. They should all be considered live and dangerous.

Please DO NOT move or bypass barricades. They are there for your safety and to allow workers to work.
