Hagan “Hook” Andersen

Hagan “Hook” Andersen (1912-1975)  All-American NYU basketball player during the hot NYU teams of the 1930s, undefeated in 1933-34. Famous for his hook shot, which explains his nickname. After a short stint with the New York Jewels of the American Basketball League, he became one of the nation’s top NCAA basketball referees.
