Municipal Clerk's Office



Per N.J.S.A. 40A:9-133.1, the Municipal Clerk is a statutory position.  


The core duties of the Municipal Clerk are:

  • Secretary to the Municipal Corporation and Custodian of the Municipal Seal
  • Secretary to the Governing Body
  • Chief Administrative Officer of Elections held in the Municipality 
  • Chief Registrar of Voters in the Municipality 
  • Administrative Officer
  • Records Coordinator and Manager


In the Borough of Haworth, the Municipal Clerk is the Local Registrar of the Office of Vital Statistics. Please call or email us with any questions or requests such as Marriage License applications, certified copies of marriages, birth and death records.


We are also happy to assist our residents in any way we can; from Raffles Application and Licensing, Liquor License applications and renewals, Pet Licensing, Park and Film permits, Road Opening permits, missed garbage collections and metal pick up orders, Recycling schedules, Passport applications, to Swim Club and Tennis Club Memberships, reporting trees to the Shade Tree Commission and the Zoning Variance application process.
