We welcome Kayla, our newest substitute letter carrier who joined us this past summer. Both Lori and Kayla will fill in for Carl, Peggy, Tom and Mike, your regular letter carriers, on their days off.
Snow and Ice Removal: With winter well underway, we again ask you to keep steps, sidewalks and pathways clear of snow and ice and to remove snow from around curbside mailboxes. This will allow your letter carrier to provide you with the safest, most efficient service possible. If your path isn't safe for your letter carrier, they will bring your mail back to the Post Office for you to pick up.
Just moved to town? Have you just moved in? We DO NOT automatically begin delivery mail to new families unless we know you've already moved into your house. We will hold new resident's mail at the Post Office until you let us know you're here. Check with us once you take possession of your new home to see if mail has begun to arrive for you.
Are you moving soon? Don't forget to fill out a CHANGE OF ADDRESS CARD. You will want your mail to follow you to your new home. You can notify us online at www.usps.gov or in person at the Post Office.
Going on vacation? If you go away on vacation or even for a couple of days, please fill out a HOLD MAIL card and let us know you'll be gone. You can notify us online at www.usps.gov or in person at the Post Office. Your letter carriers have been instructed to bring back mail which accumulates uncollected in your mail box and we will hold it at the Post Office until you return and pick it up. It is important that your personal information not be left out in this age of identity theft. It's for your protection.
Need a passport? New travel regulations require a passport for many destinations. You can call Harrington Park Post Office at 201-784-6754 or Bergenfield Post Office at 201-384-1831 for an appointment.
Recycle those pesky packing peanuts by bringing them to the Haworth Post Office. They get new life helping other customer secure their packages for shipping.
Is your home undergoing construction? If it's not possible to keep your mail receptacle clear and available for us to deposit your mail, we recommend putting your mail on HOLD. If your letter carrier's path is blocked by building materials, equipment or if your mailbox is temporarily removed, we don't mind holding your mail and you can pick it up as often as you wish. Note: Minimum height for a mailbox is supposed to be 36". We will come out and discuss mailbox location if you need to move an established delivery. We wouldn't want to see any delay in delivery to your home.
Our new "Wonders of America" Coloring Book is now available at our Post Office. All children are encouraged to stop by and ask for their own copy. We also have cool bookmarks and our famous lollipops!
Internet access to all USPS services can be found at www.usps.com. You can hold your mail, change your address and purchase stamps and products online. You can also order free shipping supplies. Take a look at our full service website.
I encourage your feedback, positive or negative.
