Marriage Licenses
Getting married in New Jersey, but not sure where you are supposed to get the marriage license?
Here are the rules for Haworth:
- If the bride lives in Haworth - Apply for the marriage license in Haworth.
- If the bride does not live in Haworth, but lives in New Jersey - Apply for the marriage license in the town where the bride currently resides.
- If the bride does not live in New Jersey, but the groom does - Apply for the marriage license in the town where the groom resides.
- If neither the bride nor groom live in New Jersey - Apply for the marriage license in the town where the wedding will take place.

Now that you've read the rules above, and you have determined that you need a license from the Borough of Haworth, here's how to apply:
You must apply at least 72 hours in advance!!!
- The bride, groom and witness must appear to the Borough Clerk in person, to fill out the application. If it is impossible for the bride and groom to appear at the same time, they may appear separately, but the witness must be present both times.
- All parties should have proof of identification.
- If either party was married previously, a certified copy of the judgment of divorce must be presented.
- The fee for a marriage license is $28.00, cash or check. Checks should be made payable to the Borough of Haworth.
- The marriage license is available for pick up 72 hours after the application is completed by all parties, and is "good" for up to 30 days after the 72 hour waiting period.
