Fall Newsletter 2005
Dear Fellow Taxpayers,
Each year your Mayor and Council and professional staff work hard to secure grants from the State and Bergen County in order to offset our property taxes.
In 2003 we received grants totaling $848,481. In 2004, $926,180. In 2005, we received $1,008,157. In addition to this, the Environmental Commission secured a $9,700 grant from ANJEC (Association of New Jersey Environmental Commissions) to reconcile our environmental sensitive area maps with their State and County counterparts to aid the Planning Board to prepare the revision to our Master Plan. Additionally, we have secured $1,443,000 from the State and County for the replacement of the Ivy Avenue Bridge.
I would like to thank the Mayor and my fellow Council members as well as our staff and volunteers who serve on various committees for their hard work in securing these funds.
